Working between the Northern Rivers to South East Queensland, we build custom homes that hold up to scrutiny — Architecturally, Structurally, and in the everyday living of them. We work closely with Architects & Consultants and passionate clients to bring detailed designs to life without losing what made them special on paper, translating Architectural drawings into homes that function the way they were meant to.
We won't tell you every job looks the same on day one, or that every site comes without its quirks. What we will tell you is that we stay in it, detail by detail, until the outcome is one we're proud to put our name on.

Mick founded Benchmark Building Projects in 2004, building it into one of the region's most respected custom home building companies. Over more than two decades he's earned a reputation for award-winning craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to doing the job properly, with a focus on estimating, contracts, and the architect relationships that underpin every successful build. Mick believes good building comes down to getting the detail right, every time — a standard he holds Benchmark to on every project.
Blair Drake
Co-Director
Blair brings over 25 years of industry experience to Benchmark Building Projects, with a reputation built on precision and an unrelenting work ethic. A self-described perfectionist, he holds every build to the same exacting standard — leading construction with the kind of hands-on attention that ensures nothing falls through the cracks. Together with Mick, Blair shares a clear understanding of what it takes to deliver the results Benchmark is known for.
